STEVE HOLLADAY

STEVE HOLLADAY was born in Van Nuys, California on April 1st, 1949.
While attending James Monroe High School, Steve was a active member
in the chess club, while running for the track team in the spring, and
the cross country team in the fall months. In 1964 for a brief time
Steve held the school record for the mile at 4 minutes 19 seconds. It
was in 1964 when Steve became interested in racing motorcycles and before
graduating in February of 1965 Steve was competing in the American Motorcycle
Associations District 37. Upon completion of High School Steve continued
on with his education at Los Angeles Valley College, where his major
was Geological Engineering, with a minor in Mechanical Engineering.
During college Steve continued his racing, and in 1968 won the Mexican
1000 in Baja, California.
May 8th, 1969 Steve was drafted by the United States Government into
military service. Steve spent the remainder of '69 completing military
training before completing his tour of duty during 1970 as a radio teletype
operator in The Republic of South Vietnam. In February of 1971 Steve
received his Honorable discharge, and resumed his racing career.
As the years '71 thru '78 unfolded Steve would win 13 major off road
races, become S.C.O.R.E. off road champion three years in a row, '74,
'75, '76, along with being named Off Roadsmen of the year by his fellow
competitors. In 1976 Steve would represent the United States, and American
Honda at "The Roof of Africa" in Lesotho, South Africa, finishing
second amongst a world class field.
IIn 1978 Steve was approached by Producer / Director Bobby Bass and,
was asked to wheelie a motorcycle across the Golden Gate Bridge, which
he did. This was the Start of Steve's career in the Motion Picture Business
which spans nearly twenty three years to date. Steve's career includes
nearly 250 feature films, over 50 television series, some 50 movies
made for T. V., and over 100 Commercials. Steve has been Coordinating
stunts and doubling lead actors his entire career.
Along with the many responsibilities of a Motion Picture career, Steve
also owns and operates Holladay Camera Bikes, a company directed towards
action oriented filming. Along with the camera bike operation Steve
has also designed and produced motion control systems for still photographers,
and carbon fibre boom arms that are capable of spanning lengths of 35ft.
All of Steve's interests operate under the umbrella of Steve Holladay
Inc.
Steve Holladay has been married for 28 years, has 2 daughters a son and 4 grandchildren. Steve continues to stay in condition by kayaking, golfing, mountain biking and motorcycle trail riding with his son. Along with catching an occasional wave. Steve believes in staying in the best possible condition, and is always pioneering new ways to solve filming requirements, while maintaining the highest professional postures.
Steve Holladay is a current member of, Screen Actors Guild, American
Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Brand X, American Motorcycle
Association, Southern California Off Road Enthusiast And Checkers off
Road Club.
Steve currently races in the unlimited open wheel class in S.C.O.R.E.
on a race to race basis.
